Forget princesses and prince-charming: the cast of Channel Nine’s trashy new reality show Love Island is officially here.

The series, set to begin Sunday, May 27 at 8.30pm on 9Go! and 9Now, was recently described by its host Sophie Monk as “a really sexy version of Big Brother without any body fat.” From all the info we’ve gathered on Love Island, the show seems to be borrowing from a few reality TV formulas but it’s pretty similar to what we’ve just seen on Bachelor In Paradise… but much steamier. Over in the UK the show just earned a BAFTA for Best Reality and Constructed Factual show, so the expectations are high.

The cast reveal comes days away from the gang meeting each other for the first time in their own luxury villa in Mallorca, Spain where they’ll basically get drunk, romp and create petty drama for our fleeting amusement. Bring this car-crash telly ON! You can catch all of Punkee’s up to date Love Island info here.
